New Factory in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

December 11, 2018

Chromaflo Technologies, the leading independent global supplier of colorant systems, chemical and pigment dispersions, is pleased to announce its plans to build a new pigment dispersion manufacturing facility including a single-story warehouse space with a two-story office facility in Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia.

As done previously in China, South Africa and India, Chromaflo will be designing and constructing a world-class manufacturing, warehousing, technical laboratory and office facility that is in line with Chromaflo branding common to all the existing Asia Pacific facilities. The 70,000-square-foot factory and warehouse and 8,000-square-foot office will support customers in the entire ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region and is expected to be complete in January of 2019. The new facility will be part of its new legal entity ‘Chromaflo Technologies (M) SDN. BHDThis will be the regional head office for ASEAN with a full range of support functions for its ASEAN customers.

The facility will leverage the manufacturing of a full range of water-based colorants, including those based on Chromaflo’s low VOC technology, solvent-based colorants and 100% solids colorants. These technologies will support a broad range of end segments, such as architectural coatings; industrial and high performance coatings; wood finishes; concrete protection; ink; latex; adhesives; caulks and sealants; gel coats; and various thermoset plastics applications.

“Moving to a new facility was initiated as part of our ongoing commitment to our customers in the region,” said Scott Becker, president and CEO of Chromaflo. “The action will allow Chromaflo to provide local products and support to the customers in ASEAN area. The new facility is being equipped to meet the region’s growing demand, and will significantly reduce lead times for our existing customers currently served from our Australia and China facilities.”

The target timeline is to produce trial batches in early January 2019 with full production soon thereafter.
